Erica Wachs is a lesbian LA-based playwright and television writer, who most recently was the writers’ assistant on an Apple TV+ development room, Livingston. Previously, she served as the script coordinator on S1 of The Night Agent (Netflix), and the writers’ assistant on an upcoming Mattel feature project, Black Rabbit (upcoming, Netflix), American Horror Story (FX), MAID (Netflix) and Pieces of Her (Netflix). As an undergraduate at Yale, she was an English major and playwriting concentrator, where she was the recipient of the Jonathan Edwards Creative Writing Award, and her short play Waking was added to the Yale Collection of American Literature at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. More recently, Erica was selected as a 2024/2025 PlayLA/Stageraw prize-winning playwright and cohort member. Her play Anatevka was a Eugene O’Neill Semifinalist and Austin Film Festival Second Rounder (2019), her short play Merge was selected and produced as part of the Rainy Day Artistic Collective’s first annual Queer Voices Festival (2021), her pilot Finishing School was an Austin Film Festival Second Rounder in 2023, she was a New Roots July Residency and IAMA Emerging Playwrights Lab Semifinalist (2023, 2024), and a Workshop Theater Intensive Finalist (2024). Erica serves as the co-producer of the monthly workshop show See What Sticks, where she helps LA artists across disciplines incubate new work.
